The present State of the World and the Church described in the Prophecies. BEFORE I proceed to future events, it may not be improper to state the view given in the prophecies of this period in which we live. Such a view is necessary to trace the progress of vents, events, by hewing the links which, in the chain of Providence, connect the present with future times. Besides, if the view given of the Church and i he World agrees with their state and condition in our times, this coincidence affords the strongest evidence thatjhe prophecies which regard future times, shall be likewise accomplished in their season. - ." v We are now in the year 1038 considerably advanced, in the perjodjof, i: i26q years, plotted to the reign of Antichrist. Now, the remarkable circumstances of this period are the following: SECTION I. The Ottoman Empire. The plague of the sixth trumpet coincides with the latter part of this periods and continues to the conclusion of it, Rev. ix. 13.--21.
