Svitok (Russian, Paperback)

This book is a memorial, a head-stone on the grave of a lost time and place - Moscow in the seventies. There isn't a single survivor from any of Alexandra Sviridova's stories and there aren't any people at all in the etchings of a famous Russian artist Dmitri Plavinsky. Only the author and the artist are alive at the time of publication. The winds of time brought both to America and their work attracted the attention of Duke University Museum of Art.
