The parents and professionals who developed these guidelines were committed to meeting the needs of children with autism spectrum disorders.This guideline will focus on the DSM-IV diagnoses of "autistic disorder" and "pervasive developmental disorder-not otherwise specified" and will broadly define these two conditions as "autism spectrum disorders."
