Florentin Petre "Piticul" (born 15 January 1976 in Bucharest) is a Romanian footballer, who currently plays for Victoria Br ne ti. Petre debuted in Divizia A with Dinamo Bucure ti in 1994, scoring in his first match. Except for a spell in UTA Arad in the second half of that season, he has stayed with Dinamo since. He helped win The Double in 2000 before contracting hepatitis C. After being cured of hepatitis, he had an accident while fishing in the Danube Delta (he touched an electricity whire with his pole and almost lost his life) which put him on the sideline for almost two seasons. He returned to win the Romanian league in 2004 and the Cup in 2003 and 2004, as well as regaining his place in the national team.
