The Weird City (Paperback)

When William Boss, a 28-year old assistant director and editor of a magazine walked a gorgeous lady named Destiny home, he did not know that what seemed to be a short distance walk would take him to a different country - a country where the trees and flowers listen, talk and gossip like tabloid newspapers. As soon as Destiny gets to her destination, the automatic giant gold gate opens and quickly closes as she passes through, leaving William behind. As a true believer of love at first sight, William decides to sneak in through the gate to see Destiny. A few minutes later, he learns that Destiny is a princess and a potential queen. He has two options: either to stay or leave. If he chooses to stay-he must take a test to qualify him from marrying her. He must do something tangible to entice the entire community, gain their trust, and poof his worthiness-because Destiny is the people's princess. But William does not know that the tests in question would take him to places that he would neither like to go nor meet people he would not like to see or interact with. Besides, the tests might take months or years to complete. Worst of all, the law prohibits him from seeing her or communicating with her until he completes the test. Princess Destiny hates all the rigid rules and regulations imposed on the only man she loves. To beat the system she turns her talking fat cat, Whisky, into a mail delivery man. She writes little loves notes, and Whisky passes the notes to William. The princess never gets a reply because her letters have no sender's name, and William does not know who is sending him the letters. In other to pass the test William must consult animals, trees, flowers and weird looking people. As he struggles with his options, he uncovers a hidden unsolved mystery, which has haunted the country for one hundred and five years.
