Pennsylvania EPHRATA, PA.--About $60,000 has been subscribed by local people toward the capitalization of a new trolley company to connect Ephrata and Lebanon, Pa., a distance of 22 miles. PHILADELPHIA, PA.--The Philadelphia Rapid Transit Company is experimenting with new fenders. Thirty fenders of different types are being tested and all the cars on the system will eventually be equipped. It is estimated that the cost of equipping the system with fenders will be about $700,000. WEST NEWTON, PA.--The Pittsburg, McKeesport & Westmoreland Traction Company has changed management and has applied for a charter under the name of the Irwin & Herminie Traction Company. It is said that $40,000 in bonds will be issued for improvements. Tennessee NASHVILLE, TENN.--Work has been started on the extension of the Nolensville branch of the Nashville Railway & Light Company, out the Nolensville road to Radnor College. The extension will be one mile in length. Washington CHEHALIS, WASH--The Twin City Light & Power Company has commenced grading on its interurban line, which is to connect Chehalis and Centralia. New steel is on the way and the construction work is being pushed rapidly. Alabama MONTGOMERY, ALA.--The Montgomery Street Railway Company is making an extension of its line to Magnolia Bluff, a distance of about three miles. The trestle which spans the bayou has been completed and most of the grading of the roadbed has been finished. Arizona TUCSON, ARIZ.--The Tucson Rapid Transit Company has plans for extending its line to Evergreen cemetery, connecting with the city lines.
