'No. 1. Take of purified While Vitriol--from ten, to twenty grains. Rose-water, or very pure, plain Water--half a pint. Mi;. No. 2. Take of Corrosive Sublimate--two grains. Pure Water--half-a-pint. Mix." No. 3. Take of Blue Vitriol--fifteen grains. Pure Water--half-a-pint. Mix. For Claps these injections are designed to be used, upon the first appearance of the symptoms; they may be diluted with more water, or strengthened by-gradually increasing the active ingredients, till a moderately smarting sensation in the urethra is excited; It should be observed of all injections, that when any one appears to fail in jts wished-for effect, it should be changed for another, of the same class. Emollient Injections. No. 4. Take of Compound Powder of Ceruse--two drachms. Purified White Vitriol--ten grains. Rose-water--six ounces. Mucilage of Gum Arabic--two ounces. Mix. No. 5.
