Future experience must determine whether better results will be achieved by using this method for the original growth, or reserving it for recurrence in loco. Subnormal, paretic, or insufficient accommodation, or premature presbyopia, even paralysis of the accommodation, of a functional or reflex nature, not dependent upon organic disease, exists in a certain, probably much larger than suspected, proportion of young or middle-aged persons. 2.
