CERTIFICATE State of Pennsylvania: County of--f as-To the Commissioners of---county, Greeting: I hereby certify that on the--day of--19----of--produced before me, one of the justices of the peace in and for said county--(State here as above the kind of animal. or the entire pelt was produced) and who being duly--according to law, stated that he killed the said animal on the---day of--19 in the township of--in said county. and that I, in the presence of the said------and----an elector of said county, cut oil' the ears of said--and burned the same according to the provision of the act of Assembly in such case made and provided. Witness my hand and seal at (Seal) my offitre at----this--day of----19-------J ustice of the Peace. In practice the justice will have the person bringing the animals or pelts make the affidavit as above shown and then proceed to cut oil the ears and burn them in the presence of one witness, who must be an elector, that is a voter, of the county, and fill out, detach and give the certificate to the person who killed the animal or animals, who can then get the bounty by producing it to the county commissioners. A better plan is for a justice to pay the bounty to the person who killed the animal or animals and keep the certificate and collect it himself from the county commissioners.
