Those of us who are interested in art printing will remember the Cow Boy (Girl) Calendar published last season by the passenger department of the Chicago & Alton Railway, which was so favorably received at the time. Following a similar general design the same parties have ready for the season of 1905, a Gypsy Girl Calendar, which in some respects is even more meritorious than its predecessor. It consists of a scries of female figures in characteristic poses, clad in the conventional gala-day dress of the Zingari, done in three color lialf-tones on crown sheets of triple weight translucent white, and fastened together at the top with satin lute-string. The first or outer sheet shows the bust of a Romany girl on a tambourine medallion, the background being in gold bronze ink, and the monthly calendar cards and the name of the road in white. Here the calendar and advertising features end, as the other sheets are full length colortypes of the same subject in different poses and costumes with no letter-press whatever attached. Untying the front sheet there remains four works of art, rich in coloring and artistic in design suitable for the portfolio or for wall decoration. For the latter purpose there may be had at a small additional cost, gold lined mats and furnishings for hanging. For particulars address, Geo. H. Charlton, G. P. A., Chicago. Santa Barbara is a quarter-sheet of doublemedium 8vo, cut the entire length across; on the front side of which is shown a panorama of the city of that name, in a series of half-tone views.
