The convention of the Edison Illuminating companies will be held at Saratoga, N. Y., Sept. 4, 3 and 6. The sixth annual convention of the Ohio Electric Light Association was held at Toledo, O., Aug. 14, 15 and 16. Some of the papers presented were as follows: "Transformers," J. E. King, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; "Choice of Periodicity of Alternating Current Apparatus," Capt. Jas. H. Andrews, of the General Electric Co.; "The Desirability of Using Storage Batteries in MediumSized Stations," L. G. White, of the Columbus Edison Co.; "Arc Lighting," H. W. Hilman. The annual convention of the Canadian Electrical Association was held at Kingston, Ont., Aug. 29, 30, and 31. The convention was to have been held at Ottawa, but owing to the recent fire this was not convenient.
