The unique design of the station has won it many design awards, including 2009 Winner of CNR Regional Excellence Award, 2008 Best New Building by RiverFront Times, and the 2009 Award of Merit - Illuminating Engineering Society Illumination Awards. The station has a new food court, which includes local sundry / deli options as well as national chains including KFC and Pizza Hut.
