He had a crush on Selena's sister Suzette, but after she met her husband Billy, Vela wrote the song. Two versions of this song were recorded by Selena. The instrumentation for the original version (which only exists on the first pressings of Amor Prohibido) consisted only of guitars, trumpets, and a harmonica during the musical bridge. The second version, produced by Bebu Silvetti, (used for mainstream release to Latin radio) had a small orchestra, with a newly-added string section and less focus on the guitars. The music video for "No Me Queda Mas" was shot entirely in San Antonio, Texas. The staircase scene was shot at the Amtrakrailroad station; the wedding scene at the Botanical gardens; the restaurant scene at "Michellino's" on the riverwalk. The staircase was also used to shoot the fashion show scene in the movie Selena. The track debuted on the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks chart on November 12, 1994, at number 40, and remained at number one on the chart for seven non-consecutive weeks..
