Without the demand from the west, our market would have been most unsatisfactory. The volume of exports for the fiscal year ended June 30th, 1894, aggregated 230,822 bushels, valued at $126,532, while that for the preceding year aggregated 1,477,058 bushels, valued at $1,002,796. Last year, Russia supplied the European markets. Distillers were in the market to a limited extent only. Receipts for the year aggregated 1,368,157 bushels, against 1,707,072 bushels during 1893; our shipments aggregated 1,100,558 bushels, against 1,320,013 bushels during I893.
