Brierfield Railway Station (Paperback)

Brierfield railway station serves the small town of Brierfield, Lancashire, England and is on the East Lancashire Line 3 km (2 miles) east of Burnley Central railway station towards Colne. The station is managed by Northern Rail, who also provide all passenger trains serving it. Opened with the line on 1st Feb 1849 but originally called "Marsden" until 1857. It is now single track, but the double track-bed and the disused down platform are still there, as is the signal box which now only operates the level crossing. There is an active Rail user Group;- "The Friends of Brierfield Station"
