The PlayStation Official App is a PlayStation focused mobile application for the iOS and Android mobile operating systems developed by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. Version 1.0 of the application was released on January 11, 2011 for the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands in its initial release though Sony plans to release than in other European countries when the application is updated to version 1.1. Currently the application can be run on devices running iOS 4 and above or Android 1.6 and above. The application is targeted mainly at European PlayStation users as it will only be released in European countries. The application is meant to be used only to keep track of news as well as their PlayStation Network accounts and will not have any gaming functionality.
