The great figures of regional planning to give form to the hinterland of Brussels are completed. The question of interregional collaboration is complex, so much it crosses economic issues, problems of mobility, visions urban, social challenges and political complexities. This complexity guides an young generation of town planners precisely to be concentrated on the implementation of precise projects, without awaiting the formation of a broad consensus on a cupola of management a such urban community. The experiment of Zuidas, in Amsterdam, is for this reason lighting, as Katrien Theunis thinks it, which outlines a panorama of the great stakes of projects in and around Brussels. Among these projects, the redeployment of the industrial waste lands of Machelen-Vilvoorde, guided by the Province of the Flemish Brabant, is undoubtedly one of most advanced.
