My Brother, the King! looks at the challenging and humorous aspects of growing up with a sibling who is severely brain-damaged. The book looks at the struggles that family members face as they deal with the oldest brother, Tony, who is mentally handicapped. Tony knows that he suffers with a disability but has no idea how his disability has affected his family. The story is told through the eyes of the youngest brother, Clay, who vacillates between love and hatred for Tony. Humor, sadness, anger and love are displayed as Clay tries to explain how it is possible to hate and love someone at the same time.
