In this story, we follow Anthony Loxton, funeral director by day and Tony the Fox, a guitarist in the bars of Kalk Bay by night, as he poignantly struggles to come to terms with himself, the living and the dead, and, indeed, death itself. When Tony's one-night stand, Lily, ends up on a bed at his funeral parlour, the boundaries separating the two worlds he has created for himself become inextricably intertwined. And it is in this new, fused and confusing world, that Tony's story of redemption is anchored. As with any good redemptive novel, the redemptive process takes him on a journey of tragedy, miscalculation and repentance.
