He was a right-handed batsman and wicket-keeper who played for Warwickshire. He was born in Solihull. Allen made a single first-class appearance for the side, during the 2002 County Championship. In the only innings in which he batted, he scored 18 not out. Allen made two List A appearances, the first for Warwickshire Cricket Board and the second for Devon, four seasons apart.
