A francophone station owned by RNC Media, CHLX airs a mixed format of classical music, jazz and adult contemporary hits, branded as Plan te 97,1. CHLX was licensed by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission in 2001, and launched on September 23, 2002. A radio station is a set of equipment necessary to carry on communication via radio waves. Generally, it is a receiver and/or transmitter, an antenna, and some smaller additional equipment necessary to operate them.
