The album was recorded between June 14, 1997-April 11, 1998 at Dockside Studios, Maurice The album is mainly re-arranged jazz and blues classics and the rest is original compositions by the band. Derek was eighteen years old at the time of the release of the album. In 2008, the album was made available digitally, and is now available on iTunes, and other online retailers like Real, Rhapsody, Yahoo Music, eMusic, Napster and Puretracks. Blues is the name given to both a musical form and a music genre created primarily within the African-American communities in the Deep South of the United States at the end of the 19th century from spirituals, work songs, field hollers, shouts and chants, and rhymed simple narrative ballads.
