It is their duty to labor to secure a continual increase of knowledge and fitness for their work, and to devote themselves earnestly to it. and it is the duty of the churches to support them while thus engaged. Art. 13. Christian baptism is the immersion of a "x believer in water in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit; to show forth in a solemn and beautiful emblem his faith in a crucified, buried and risen Savior, and the remission of sins through that faith. It is prerequisite to Church membership, and to a participation of the Lord's Supper. To this ordinance it is the duty of every believer to submit. Art. 14. The Lord's Supper is an institution of Jesus Christ, in which, by partaking of bread and wine as emblems of his body and blood, we commemorate His dying love; and only members of the Church in good standing are entitled to receive it. Art. 15. The first day of the week is the Lord's Day, and it is to be kept sacred to religious purposes by abstaining from all secular labor and recreation, by the assembling of the Churches for worship, and by diligence in the exercises of private devotion. Art. 16. It is the duty of Christians and Christian Churches to labor for.the propagation of the Gospel throughout the world, and in doing so, they may unite in missionary and other associations, provided that such associations shall have no ecclesiastical authority. Art. 17. There will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and of the unjust. Art. 18.
