In Cases where there are mutual debts between the par'ties, a defendant may plead the General Issue, and pay any sum of money into Court that he imagines the plaintiff' may recover, and give Notice of Set-off as to all the remaining sums stated in the Declaration; and as the Set-off must be delivered at the time of filing the Plea, it is commonly written at the foot thereof, on the same Stamp, in the following Form: --In the County-Court of Devon. 3 Joseph Right, Gent, one &c. plaintiff, Between-( and Richard Wrong, defendant.
