The epic graphic novel by Frank Miller assaults the screen with the blood, thunder and awe of its ferocious visual style faithfully recreated in an intense blend of live-action and CGI animation.
Retelling the ancient Battle of Thermopylae, it depicts the titanic clash in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) and his massive Persian army. Experience history at swordpoint. And moviemaking with a cutting edge.

SPARTANS, WHERE'S MY REMOTE?!
If you want to see a lot of people lose their heads and limbs in spectacular slow-motion, then this film is for you. 300 is a laughable display of unbridled testosterone. It is humourless, brainless, alpha male entertainment. At times the film takes itself so serious that it almost becomes an unwitting parody. In the words of the Joker: "Why so serious?"
The photography is outstanding and the film is expertly crafted. Zack Snyder is a fine director. I feel you should see this movie at least once, but don't expect the romantic and humorous nuances of films such as Braveheart or Gladiator. Only put this film on if your favourite bloodthirsty rugby team has brutally destroyed the opposition and you're hungry for more. This is not a film I would recommend to my kids, or people of a sensitive nature.
