A similar performance took place two years ago, and resulted in a considerable sum being raised, but the support given by Caius men hardly came up to expectations. The chief feature of the Entertainment on that occasion was an Operetta by Messrs T. M. Taylor and H. V. Phillipps, and rumour says that Mr Phillipps meditates a similar production on this occasion. We should like to see a much larger gathering of Caians than before, and venture to point out to our readers that such an occasion offers a capital opportunity for meeting old College friends. The arrangements are chiefly in the hands of Messrs Rippmann, Taylor and Phillipps, and these gentlemen will spare no effort to make the evening a success from every point of view. Such a scheme of course necessitates a considerable amount of trouble, and we trust to the members of the College, past and present, to back up nobly the efforts of these gentlemen, and enhance the success of the evening by their personal support and presence. Tickets, as will be seen from the enclosed circular, may be obtained from Mr Rippmann, the secretary. It is with mixed feelings that we hear that the Freshmen have decided to continue the "'92" Club. We say with mixed feelings because we cannot help thinking that although such societies may do a certain amount of good, any extension in the formation of clubs is a step towards the disintegration of the College. We should be extremely sorry to see Caius in the position of a certain other College which a few years ago was reputed to have upwards of sixty clubs and societies.
