Strengthening Forces for Democracy in the Greater Middle East - Lessons from the Past and Strategies for the Future (Paperback)

This report is from the IFPA-Bradley Workshop, held February 9, 2006 in the Polaris Suites of the Ronald Reagan Building. Presenters contributed information on lessons on the Cold War to the global war on terror, exploring the similarities between the two. There was discussion on efforts to promote democracy in Communist societies and building coalitions to support democracy and the importance of strategic communications. Other topics included the role of trade and technology, as well as policy and strategy to promote democratization. There is a special focus on the Middle East and Muslim culture.
