Semione is a former municipality in the district of Blenio in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. Since 15 March 2011, it is part of the municipality Serravalle. Semione has an area, as of 1997, of 10.42 square kilometers (4.02 sq mi). Of this area, 1.06 km2 (0.41 sq mi) or 10.2% is used for agricultural purposes, while 8.16 km2 (3.15 sq mi) or 78.3% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.36 km2 (0.14 sq mi) or 3.5% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.05 km2 (12 acres) or 0.5% is either rivers or lakes and 0.25 km2 (0.097 sq mi) or 2.4% is unproductive land.
