Further details regarding the Gender of III. Decl. Substantives are subjoined in the alphabetical order of the terminations: ---EN.--The only truly Latin word in-en, not Neuter, is pecten, m. comb.-EE is Masculine, except parisyllabic UntSr, c. boat, which is generally Feminine, and the names of plants, which are Neuter, as are also the following imparisyllabics of miscellaneous meaning: --cadaver, n. carcase. iter, n. journey. spinther, n. bracelet. tuber, n. hump. uber, n. pap. ver, n. spring. Defective (verier), stripe, is also Neuter; but tuber, a kind of apple, is common.-ES.--Substantives in-es, Gen.-itis, are Masculine, except Feminine merges; all other imparisyllabics in-es and-es are Feminine, except Masculine paries and pes, but not compes, f. fetter.
