Austenland (DVD)

Romantic comedy following a woman infatuated with Jane Austen's fictional character Mr Darcy as she heads on vacation to a theme park designed to recreate the atmosphere of the Austen novels.

The friends and would-be boyfriends of Jane Hayes have long since realized that she is obsessed to an unnatural degree with 'Pride and Prejudice'. Indeed, Jane's inability to find a stable relationship appears to be largely due to the fact that any prospective boyfriend is measured unfavourably against Colin Firth's Mr Darcy, of whom she has a life-sized cardboard cut-out in her room.

Determined to be the heroine of her own story, Jane spends her life savings on a trip to 'Austenland', an eccentric resort where guests experience complete immersion in the Regency era. Armed with her bonnet, corset and needlepoint, Jane strives to avoid spinsterhood … but has a difficult time determining where fantasy ends and real life—and maybe even love—begins.
