Oromo Liberation Front (Paperback)

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Oromo Liberation Front (Oromo: Adda Bilisummaa Oromoo), or OLF, is an organization established in 1973 by Oromo nationalists to promote self-determination for the Oromo people against what they call "Abyssinian colonial rule." It has been outlawed and labeled as a terrorist organization by the Ethiopian government. Although some observers claim that the OLF has not committed any violent acts since 2002, there are reports that the OLF has increased its activity following the general elections of 2005. The OLF has offices in Washington, D.C. and Berlin from where it operates Amharic and Afan Oromo radio stations. The fundamental objective of the Oromo liberation movement is to exercise the Oromo peoples' right to national self-determination and end centuries of oppression and exploitation.
