In 2008 Pozo refereed in the Beijing Olympics and the FIFA Club World Cup in Japan. Pozo has also been pre-selected as one of 38 referees from around the world who could possibly referee in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. If chosen (he will know in 2010), Pozo would become the first Chilean to referee a World Cup since Mario Sanchez Yanten participated in the 1998 World Cup in France.
