extinct genus from a well known class of fossil marine arthropods,
the trilobites. It lived during the Botomian stage, which lasted
from approximately 524 to 518.5 million years ago. This faunal
stage was part of the Cambrian Period.Fossils (from Latin fossus,
literally "having been dug up") are the preserved remains or traces
of animals, plants, and other organisms from the remote past. The
totality of fossils, both discovered and undiscovered, and their
placement in fossiliferous (fossil-containing) rock formations and
