Paul Francis Gorman is a retired United States Army four star general who served as Commander in Chief, United States Southern Command (USCINCSO) from 1983 to 1985.Gorman began his military career as an enlisted sailor in the United States Navy. He was appointed to the United States Military Academy, graduating in 1950.Gorman retired with his wife Ruth to their farm, Cardinal Point, in Afton, Virginia and began raising cattle and wine grapes.
