Often just referred to as "Aces" the team has had rapid recognition in the north east scenario paintball scene since officially forming in 2004. Aces have been awarded Most Valuable Team in Skirmish USA's Battle of Berlin game in 2006 and Invasion of Normandy Game in 2008. In the Fall of 2001, a group of friends from Iona Preparatory School began playing laser tag in a small local arena. After a few months, the group decided to take the activity to a new level, and proposed creating a paintball team. The original proposed name was the "Pope John Paul Posse." Over the next year, the group would all obtain their first paintball markers consisting of Spyders and Tippmann 98 Customs. By September of 2002, the team "Black Dawn" was ready for their first game. They chose the World Record Game at Skirmish USA. Greg Meade attended the game, and joined the team afterwards. Within the next year, the team became sponsored by the Reality Check (organization).
