At his player career he played for FC Kapaz (Ganja), Garabag (Agdam), Kur (Mingacevir), Shafa (Baku), Turan (Tovuz) and etc. At the end of his career played in Iran championship. He was player of Azerbaijan national team. Ramiz Mammadov one of the most successful Top Division Goal Scorers among the defensive Players of all time. Mammadov was the head coach for FK Qabala, before being replaced by ex-England defender Tony Adams.
