Justice Ranganath Misra of Orissa served as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India from September 25, 1990 to November 24, 1991, and has served as the Chief Scout of the All India Boy Scouts Association since 1992. The term Chief Justice of India refers to the highest judge in the Supreme Court of India. This also makes it the highest judicial position obtainable by a judge in India.
