Robert Thorne (1 March 1860 - 11 February 1930) was an English cricketer. Thorne represented Hampshire in two first-class matches in 1883. Thorne made his debut against Sussex and played his second and final first-class match against the same opposition in the same season. Thorne died in Bitterne Park, Southampton, Hampshire on 11 February 1930. Bitterne Park is a suburb and Electoral Ward of Southampton, England, on the Eastern bank of the River Itchen, built on sloping parkland which once formed part of Bitterne Manor. Bitterne Park Ward includes the suburbs of Bitterne Park, Bitterne Manor, Midanbury and Townhill Park, and had a population of 13,276 as of the 2001 Census.
