Sean McGoldrick (born Duffryn, Newport) is a Welsh boxer who won the silver medal in the Bantamweight division at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, India, losing to Manju Wanniarachchi of Sri Lanka in the final. At the time he was an 18 year old pupil at Duffryn Comprehensive School and the Wales national coach was Colin Jones. On 24 October 2010 National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka announced that Wanniarachchi had failed a drugs test taken during the 2010 Commonwealth Games. A urine sample provided by the boxer had contained nandrolone, a banned performance enhancing drug.
