Thessaloniki Prefecture is a nomos ("prefecture") in Greece, containing Thessaloniki, Langadas and the northern portion of the Chalcidicean peninsula. The prefecture has the second largest population in Greece and the largest in Macedonia as well as northern Greece in general. The prefecture stretches from the Thermian Gulf to the Strymon Gulf. The Thermian Gulf is to the southwest while the Strymon Gulf is in the east.
