Warren Glenn Harding (January 8, 1921 - April 2, 2005) was a Democratic elected official and the Treasurer of the State of Texas from 1977-1983.Harding was born January 8, 1921, in Princeton, Texas to William Moore and Ethel (Baccus) Harding. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in World War II.In 1950, he was elected Treasurer of Dallas County, Texas and served in that position until 1977. In 1977, upon the death of Jesse James he was appointed by Governor Dolph Briscoe to the position of Treasurer of Texas. Harding was elected to a full term in 1979 and served as state treasurer until 1983. He was succeeded by fellow Democrat Ann Richards.[Harding died April 2, 2005, in Dallas, Texas, and was interred at the Texas State Cemetery.
