Mary Ann Klouda earned a BA in chemistry from College of Notre Dame (now Notre Dame de Namur University) in Belmont, California. She went on to earn a PhD in human physiology with a minor concentration in biochemistry from Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois. She is married to Robert Klouda, an electrical engineer, who drew the illustrations in this book. They have four married children and seven grandchildren. Dr. Klouda worked at numerous colleges and universities for forty years, teaching thousands of college students about the amazing human body. Now she would like to help the average layperson understand "the amazing human body."
