Piero Sraffa (1898-1983): who was this Italian economist mostly
unknown for the big public, who characterized the European thought
not merely in political economy, but also in philosophy and
political theory? Fully a man of his times, Sraffa left a mark on
his contemporaries and gave birth to the neo-ricardian school which
over the last 50 years continued the Prelude to a Critique of
Economic Theory laid down by the Italian economist. This book
provides a biography, a discussion of his contribution and a
thematic section about the contacts Sraffa had with three important
figures of the last century: J.M.Keynes, L.Wittgenstein and
A.Gramsci.
