Maximizing Students' Academic Performance in Higher Education (Paperback)


The purpose of this study was to analyze Students' Commitment, Engagement and Locus of Control as Predictors of Academic Achievement at Higher Education Level. The researcher used analytical model and conclusive research approach to conduct the study and survey method for data collection. Three instruments including Students' Commitment Scale, Students' Engagement Scale and Academic Locus of Control Scale were modified and re-validated. Mean, Standard Deviation, One-way ANOVA, Independent Sample t-Test, Pearson Product Moment Correlation, Linear Regression Analysis and Multiple Regression Analysis techniques were used to calculate the descriptive and inferential statistics. The multiple regression analysis indicated a significant impact of students' commitment, students' engagement and locus of control on academic achievement. The findings and conclusions were made in light of results of the study and it was recommended that the study is noteworthy and beneficial for all stakeholders of teaching-learning process.
