This volume is part of an outcomes-based series designed to include specific outcomes of all three Foundation Phase Learning Areas of language and literacy, numeracy and mathematics, and life orientation. The series employs a theme-based, integrated, across-the-curriculum approach. Each unit of lessons specifies: learning area coverage; specific outcomes; performance and assessment criteria; concepts and skills; and activities. Each unit of the course is intended to function as a complete course in itself, covering the curriculum for a particular Grade, but the components can be used independently of each other.
