Tad Ericson, a human bored with the superficial corporate world, is trying to appease Patricia Hansen, his vain fiancee, by spending time with her corporate but superficial parents and friends. Brielle, a mermaid bored with sea life, desires more than limited rights for women and vain sea mermen; so, she studies the human world as a means of escape. Her uncle, Clement, strongly tries to urge her against studying human life because of a tragic event involving humans that haunted Clement forever, unknown to Brielle. Brielle and Tad, frustrated with the circumstances trapping them, meet by happenstance, leading to an adventure involving sarcastic friends, tragedy, deception, comedy, hidden truth and romance.
