Module 4 Part 2 Workbook: ESL curriculum for ADVANCED STUDENTS Second Edition ESL Curriculum is a publication of "Learning English with Laughter's Teen-Adult Series." There are four Modules in this series. This Workbook is part of a series of the three books, Student Reader, Workbook and Teacher's Guide that comprise Module 4 Part 2. It is intended for English second language beginners aged 13 years and older. This Workbook has 57 pages for 20 lessons. It provides practice of all concepts taught in the Student Reader and includes an 11 page glossary of the 470 words introduced in the new vocabulary. There are spaces for student's notes. THE STUDENTS DO THE WRITTEN WORK IN THIS WORKBOOK. Many of the exercises and activities will be incomplete if bought without the complete series - Student Reader, Workbook and Teacher's Guide. All answers, tests and extra activities for photocopying are in the Teacher's Guide. Throughout this Workbook the students participate in many written and oral activities: - Writing sentence answers - Match the meaning vocabulary exercises - Match the Meaning - The past perfect progressive and the future perfect progressive - Writing questions - Using the past perfect progressive - Using the present progressive with - always, forever, constantly - Small and large group activities - Using "always," "constantly" or "forever" in sentences - Understanding "to imply" and to "infer" - Verb tenses - The subjunctive in the passive form - Small groups: Descriptive adjectives - Writing a role-play - Prefixes "in" and "un" - Brainstorming advantages and disadvantages - Multiple choice: choosing the best meaning - Using "who, that, which" - Using "always, constantly" or "forever" to show anger or annoyance. - Using "supposed to" and "be to," to express expectations - Using "supposed to" or "be + infinitive to express the meaning. - "Go" is followed by a gerund in certain idiomatic expressions - Planning a paragraph - writing the paragraph - Small group activity - choosing a scenario and writing a story - Understanding "to imply" Understanding the verb "to derive" These activities and exercises reinforce the contents of Module 4 Part 2 Student Reader. The availability of this series of Modules, each in two Parts, allows schools, colleges and universities to provide books for half of each Module at a time.
