Flora of the Cretan Area - Annotated Checklist and Atlas (Paperback)

Crete, Karpathos and the nearby Islands in the South Aegean region have a rich and varied flora with approximately 1750 species, including a significant proportion of endemics. This checklist provides detailed information on all these vascular plants. Annotations on ecology, taxonomy and distribution contribute to the checklist and most of the taxa are mapped. Extensive fieldwork, supported by a large amount of recent work, is brought together. The format of the checklist is such that it may, if required, be used in conjunction with "Flora Europea", thereby enabling identifications to be made with the keys and descriptions given in that work.
