Bukit Duabelas (meaning The Twelve Hills) is a relatively small
national park covering 605 km in east Sumatra, Indonesia. It is
representative of lowland tropical rain forests in the province of
Jambi. Only the northern part of the park consists of primary
rainforest, while the rest is secondary forest, as result of
previous logging.A national park is a reserve of natural or
semi-natural land, declared or owned by a government, that is
restricted from most development and is set aside for human
recreation and enjoyment and animal and environmental protection.
