William "Bill, Smiley" Meronek (April 15, 1917 - May 25, 1999) was a Canadian professional ice hockey forward who played 19 games in the National Hockey League for the Montreal Canadiens. He was born in Stoney Mountain, Manitoba. Ice hockey is a team sport played on ice, in which skaters use wooden or composite sticks to shoot a hard rubber puck into their opponent's net. In regions where it is popular, the game is often referred to simply as hockey.
